Since its inception in 1992, the Trans Canada Trail has captured the imagination of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. One of the largest volunteer efforts ever undertaken in Canada, The Great Trail is also a true partnership between the private sector, leaders in philanthropy and the federal and provincial governments. Connecting the world’s longest, grandest Trail is an all-hands-on-deck initiative.
In 2011, the Richardson Foundation made an inaugural gift to this great initiative to encourage other Canadian families and corporations to join us in leading the TCT’s Chapter 150 Campaign – an essential effort to connect the Trail for Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. My family’s gift built on the generosity and vision of other great Canadian donors.
On behalf of the TCT Foundation, I’d like to acknowledge five very special iconic Canadian businesses and philanthropic leaders who believed in our bold dream. Through their significant and long-standing financial contributions, these modern-day nation builders have written a magnificent page in Canada’s history. Their generous support has inspired countless partnerships, building a meaningful and evolving legacy for all Canadians.
